Supported Independent Living

Want to live independently in your own home, shared accommodation or a private rental, but need ongoing support such as 24/7 care to make it happen? That’s what our Supported Independent Living (SIL) supports are for. Our highly experienced healthcare professionals and support workers provide quality support in the comfort of your home, so you can get on with enjoying life.

  • Some of the supports include:
    Personal care
  • Household tasks e.g. cooking and cleaning
  • Medication management
  • Learning independent living skills (e.g. budgeting, catching public transport)
  • Meal planning and nutrition
  • Social support
  • Accessing community activities and social events
  • Transport

It’s worth keeping in mind that SIL is a different support to SDA. Under the NDIS, SIL focuses on providing individuals with the necessary assistance to live independently while SDA focuses on providing suitable accommodation options for people with significant functional impairments or high support needs.
